CITY OF BURBANK2+ weeks agoAgencyNEWS RELEASE - ONGOING SHOOTING INVESTIGATION Burbank, CA (April 2, 2024) – An investigation is underway following an early morning shooting that occurred in a residential area. On April 2, 2024, at around 3:20 a.m., Burbank Police Communications received several calls from citizens reporting the sound of gunshots heard in the area of Elmwood Avenue and Glenoaks Boulevard. Burbank Police officers responded to the area and located a shooting scene in the 300 block of East Elmwood Avenue. Officers also encountered an adult male suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The shooting victim, who is in his 30’s, was transported to a local trauma center for further medical treatment. He is expected to survive. Burbank Police officers secured the area prior to the arrival of detectives. Investigators then began searching for evidence related to the shooting and interviewing potential witnesses. CAL FIRE2+ weeks agoAgencySerial Arsonist Arrested in El Dorado County. Suspect arrested on suspicion of starting fires in El Dorado and Amador counties On October 23, 2023, El Dorado County Sheriff's Deputies arrested an individual for a CAL FIRE-related warrant in El Dorado County for three fires that occurred in Pollock Pines in mid-September. Since the individual was taken into custody, he has been charged with two additional fires, totaling five fires between El Dorado and Amador counties. With assistance from CAL FIRE Law Enforcement Officers, the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office, the El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office, and the El Dorado County Fire Protection District, Steven Saunders, age 27, was arrested and booked in the El Dorado County Jail on suspicion of arson and starting fires at the following locations: • A structure fire on September 13, 2023, at 2:33 a.m. at the Taco Bell Building at 6454 Pony Express Trail in Pollock Pines. • A vegetation fire on September 13, 2023, at 9:48 p.m. behind the Family Dollar Store at 6524 Pony Express Trail in Pollock Pines. • A vegetation fire on September 14, 2023, at 5:18 a.m. behind CVS Drugs at 6450 Pony Express Trail in Pollock Pines. • A vegetation fire on October 21, 2023, at 4:00 a.m. in the area of Meadow View Road and Shenandoah Road in River Pines. • A vegetation fire (the Ore Fire) on October 23, 2023, at 3:39 p.m. in the area of Highway 49 and Ore Court in Logtown. Through evidence obtained at the fire scenes, all fires were determined to be arson. CAL FIRE Law Enforcement Officers work diligently to investigate all fires and apprehend those suspected of starting fires. From January 1, 2023, through September 30, 2023, CAL FIRE Law Enforcement Officers have made 88 arson arrests. CITY OF BURBANK2+ weeks agoAgencyBurbank PD News Release: Burglary Suspects Arrested Burbank, CA (March 14, 2024) – Five suspects have been arrested following a residential burglary of an occupied residence in the 3600 block of Viewcrest Drive. Just before midnight on March 12, 2024, Burbank Police officers responded to a residential burglary in progress in the 3600 block of Viewcrest Drive. Two suspects, who were seated in a waiting vehicle to the front of the residence, were located immediately by responding officers and taken into custody without incident. Three additional suspects fled on foot into the surrounding neighborhood and hillside. With the assistance of the Pasadena Police Helicopter, and Glendale Police Department, a perimeter was established. A search was performed using police K-9’s from both Glendale PD and Burbank PD. During the search, all three suspects that fled were located, but refused to comply with officers’ commands. The suspects were ultimately bitten by Burbank Police K-9’s before being taken into custody. The three suspects that were bitten by K-9’s were medically treated at the scene by Burbank Fire Department Paramedics and transported to a local hospital prior to being booked for residential burglary. The suspects have been identified as 19-year-old Robert Holt, a resident of Los Angeles, 20-year-old Trista Manuel, a resident of Los Angeles, 19-year-old Anthony Regalado, a resident of Los Angeles, 21-year-old Henry Thomas, a resident of Los Angeles, and 23-year-old Kameron Wilson, a resident of Moreno Valley. The Burbank Police Department wishes to thank our partners from the Glendale Police Department and Pasadena Police Department for their assistance in making these arrests.
