Keep the brie rind or slice it off?
People will do it different ways and some love the rind, some don’t. If it’s your first time, perhaps trim the rinds on the sides/ends so you can taste more of the brie. The rind will still remain on the top and taste that too. From there you can know if you like the rind or not. If you do decide to slice the edges of the rind off, know that the brie will ooze out more on the sides.
What type of Brie to use?
Sure, there’s different type of brie to make this dip. From double cream to more creamy Triple Cream bries, all will work great. But we wouldn’t use any super expensive high end brie. A grocery store brie is great and so much flavor will be from adding garlic butter. Save the high end fancy brie cheeses for your cheese board and eat it fresh. Here’s a great brie 101 guide.
How to Make Baked Brie Dip:
- Score the top of the brie in cross-hatch style
- Combine melted butter and fresh minced garlic. Use fresh garlic, it tastes so much better. The jarred chopped garlic has additives and funky preservatives in it and it’s a totally different flavor.
- We love making it fresh. Add some fresh or dried herbs
- Bake! Arrange on a platter with bread, crackers and fruit.

Hot Brie dip! Let it cool but not too long. It’ll get hard.
It’ll be hard to not dive into the dip right away but it does need to cool a bit. But if you wait too long, the dip will get hard when it cools down all the way. So for those who want it creamy, runny and hot you have to eat it sooner than later. And for the late comers to the party, they can just eat it cold. It’s still got lots of flavor even when cold.
How to Make Baked Brie Cheese Board
Having a baked brie cheese board is perfect for any party or gathering. Best of all, it’s a show stopping visual. Have all your side accompaniments ready and prepped. When the hot brie is out of the oven, place it on a cutting board. Then spread all your cheese board sides around the warm dish of brie. It’s going to be hot! so let it cool just a bit before letting everyone dive into deliciousness.

Can this be cooked in the microwave? My turkey will be cooking
-

Hi Pam, we have not tried it in the microwave yet but we don’t see why it wouldn’t work. We would trim some of the wax edges off the brie first, then maybe cut the brie cheese in chunks. This could help melt the brie better in the microwave. Hope this helps!
